Energy and Emissions

We aim to Improve energy efficiency and adopt renewable energy to mitigate emissions.

Renewable Electricity

We harness over 92 MW of solar and wind energy, generating about 130 million kWh annually. We plan to add about 55 MW of solar capacity in the coming years.

Carbon-Mitigation

We have successfully mitigated over 600,000 metric tons of GHG equivalent emissions since 2018.

Energy & Emissions Intensity

We've implemented various initiatives, including natural lighting, motion sensors, improved ventilation systems, tree planting, and shifting from coal to cleaner fuels like agro-waste and solar.

Water

We are dedicated to reducing our dependence on freshwater by recycling and reducing our water consumption.

Water Intensity

We are dedicated to reducing water consumption. Our efforts include implementing waterless washing technologies (eFlow, Ozone), optimizing wash-off chemicals, recovering condensate water, utilizing RO reject for washing, and installing aerators at taps for up to 20% water savings.

Water Recycling

We leverage state-of-the-art ETPs and STPs for water recycling. This enables water reuse in production and for applications like ash quenching and horticulture. Most wet processing facilities achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD).

Our Target: Achieve 85% and 75% recycled water in garment factories and mills, respectively, by FY 2024-25

Chemicals and Materials

We are committed to sustainable chemical management to ensure transparency and support sustainable procurement decisions.

Chemical Management & Safety

We prioritize chemical safety and sustainability. Since 2011, we have led the way in eliminating hazardous chemicals, becoming one of the first to pass Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) audits in FY 2012-13.

100%

of the dyes and auxiliaries used in our production processes are ZDHC MRSL compliant

Sustainable Chemicals

Embracing cutting-edge and innovative solutions allows us to significantly reduce our environmental footprint while maintaining high-quality standards in our products. One example is our wovens mill, which has transitioned 30% of its dyeing process to a salt-free method, saving 300 tons of salt and subsequent steam.

Responsible Sourcing and Traceability

We ensure responsible sourcing by focusing on transparency, ethical practices, and sustainability. Through initiatives like Trakwel, we digitize operations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and resource optimization, driving a sustainable and transparent supply chain.

Waste Towards Circularity

We strive to reduce, reuse, recycle, and close the loop through effective waste management. Image of textile pieces/ strips in bulk.

Digital Sampling

Digital sampling improves efficiency, while resource optimization supports eco-friendly practices. This practice propels seamless collaboration and drives innovation.

Upcycling and Segregation

We prioritize waste reduction and recycling. By upcycling fabric scraps and segregating waste, we maximize resource efficiency. We also partner with recyclers to ensure that non-hazardous waste is properly disposed of. Hazardous waste is safely disposed of through specialized management systems.
